COVID-19 UPDATE: 5/13/2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Although LVPD has been closed and unable to see patients, we have been diligently working on making our office safer for our patients and staff for when we do open.  Here are some of the measures we are working on:

  1. We have invested in new technology for better air quality.
  2. We are installing an energy recovery ventilation (ERV) system. The ERV system will exhaust the inside air and replenish it with fresh, clean, outside air several times a day.
  3. We are installing an ultra-violet (UV) germicidal air purification system. The office’s air will be purified by UV light to help eliminate airborne pathogens such as COVID-19.
  4. Our three operatory rooms are equipped with negative pressure. These rooms are designed to isolate and help prevent the spread of aerosols. However, we are increasing this functionality so that these pressure rooms will have a full exchange of air 10-times per hour!
  5. We are equipping our staff with upgraded personal protection equipment, which provides protection for staff and patients.
  6. We are installing hand sanitizer stations throughout the office for patients and staff.
  7. “Sneeze Guards” are being installed at the check-in and check-out desks.
  8. We are implementing enhanced cleaning and sterilization procedures for the entire office.
  9. All visitors will be required to wear a mask.
  10. Our office procedures will be changing so that we will be seeing less patients per day and there will be less patients in the waiting room at any given time. As our new procedures are finalized, we will notify patients as necessary.
  11. Our handwashing stations are already touchless and most of our office is already paperless – we will continue with this practice and look for other ways to make your visit safer. Unfortunately, this may include eliminating toys, balloons, and stickers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Our office will contact you when we are open to reschedule your appointments. Please stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,
Dr. Amith Majumdar and Staff
